Please support the team by donating supplies and meals during their week long stay from Aug 2-10. Team is in need of water, sportsdrinks, canned salmon or sardines, corned beef, energy bars, bread, peanut butter, snacks, fruit and especially cooked meals preferably with rice. There are 20 athletes and 6 coaches and managers. The team is generally composed of members of the Philippine Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. They have been able to compete in Tampa at the last minute thru sponsorships that covered travel and lodging, but their meal allowances have not been arranged. The PDBF rowers registered a 41.91-second world record in the 200-meter men’s open category standard boat to beat all their foreign rivals to win the gold medal during the World Championships held at Sydney, Australia in 2007.GOLD in PRAGUE 2009
They shattered their own record in 2009 when they notched a new time record of 40.02 seconds for the gold medal during the World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic.GOLD in PRAGUE 2009
In 2009, they also bagged another gold medal after topping the mixed category standard boat with a leading time of 43.50 seconds—another world record.There was no mixed category event during the 2007 World Championship
