“Pastoral Suite” is a collection of three traditional Pangasinense dances, “Binasuan” (Glass Dance) , “Binoyugan” (Clay Pot Dance} and “Sayaw sa Bangko” (Dance on Benches).
Collectively, these dances from Pangasinan capture the essence of Philippine rural scenes and traditional practices. They celebrate the skill, creativity, and vibrant cultural heritage of the Pangasinense people, while also providing a window into the daily lives and interactions of rural communities in the Philippines.
Performed on September 23, 2023 by the Philippine Performing Arts Company, Philippine Choral Group, and the Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble for the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc.’s Sampaguita Ball at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center in Tampa, Florida.
